Koncar – Elektricna Vozila is currently constructing low – floor trains for the national passenger railway operator HZ Putnicki Prijevoz and the first of which should be delivered by the end of March 2015 and after that a train or two would be released each month.
Koncar won the contract to deliver 44 passenger trains with a total value of HRK 1.63 billion without VAT (EUR 212 million).
The construction will be conducted in two phases: the first phase includes the delivery of 20 electrical trains and one diesel train, while another 12 electrical and 11 diesel trains will be delivered in the the second phase. The trains are state-of-the-art products developed by Koncar while the main parts were developed by Koncar’s affiliate companies. Almost all the know-how in these trains is domestic, 70 percent of them are domestically produced components.
