Construction works to the future Eppenberg tunnel, between Olten and Aarau, have been assigned to the ARGE Marti Eppenberg consortium. The contract is worth CHF 273.7 Million (EUR 228 Million). Works will begin in the spring of 2015.
The development of the 3km tunnel is part of the project which includes the construction of four railway lines on the Olten-Aarau route up to 2020 for traffic decongestion. The total cost of the project amounts to CHF 855 Million (EUR 712 Million).
