The Afghanistan Railway Authority launched Expression of Interest for operations, maintenance and management of Hairatan to Mazar-e-Sharif Railway Line. The closing date is set for November 15, 2014.
The Total length of the railway line is 138 km (5 km main line and 63 km of loop line) and was constructed based on Russian gauge and standards. The line went into operation in December 2011 and has been successfully operated, maintained and managed.
The Afghanistan Railway Authority (AfRA) will explore the possibility of awarding the three contracts for operation, maintenance and management.
