In the first half of the year, Italian state-owned group Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) reported an increase in the operating revenues and a reduction of costs, shows the consolidated accounts approved by the company’s Board this month.
EBITDA results have reached EUR 1.02 Billion, by 8.1% more. The increase was due to the positive evolution of operating revenues (+1.1%) following increasing revenues from the operation of the “Freccia” trains and following the reduction of operating costs by EUR 33 Million.
The EBIT results increased by EUR 438 Million. The company’s net profit in the first six months has reached EUR 285 Million, a 2.5% growth compared to the previous year.
