A majority in Dutch parliament calls on the government to push for a new ticketing system in public transport, newspaper Algemeen Dagblad reports. Dutch rail company NS and several other PT companies, together with payment infrastructure company Trans Link Systems (TLS) have already started trialing new options, such as single-check in across companies and monthly billing. TLS has built a new cloud-based back office that will allow the launch of new services, such as paying by NFC debit card and/or mobile phone. The political parties want these innovations be available nationwide before mid-2015.
