Stadler has presented MTR Express with the first of six intercity trains it has ordered to operate a new open access service between Gothenburg and Stockholm (455 km). Factory acceptance testing has now been completed at the manufacturer’s Bussnang factory, which has delivered the first train within a year of the CHF 85 million order being placed. In March 2015, the five-car electric-multiple unit (EMU) will enter passenger service on the Gothenburg-Stockholm corridor – a route MTR will share with Sweden’s state-owned operator SJ.
