BDZ has added five additional routes during the pilot system for the online acquisition of tickets launched at the end of 2013. At present, passengers can procure tickets for rapid and express trains on the Sofia-Blagoevrgad-Sofia, Plovdiv-Varna-Plovdiv and Sofia-Varna-Sofia railways. The other destinations included in the online system are: Sofia-Gorna Oryahovitsa-Varna, Sofia-Plovdiv-Burgas, Sofia-Karlovo-Burgas and Sofia-Pleven.
The system will allow passengers to book tickets and to pay on the Internet. 19,500 users who bought 6,900 tickets have subscribed since the launch of the service.
