Kyrgyzstan intends to enter 2015 as Customs Union and EEU member

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin have approved an Action Plan for accession of Kyrgyzstan to the Common Economic Space with regard to the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the intention of Kyrgyzstan to become a full EEU member. The decision was made on October 10 at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council at the level of heads of state in Minsk, Belarus.
” Together, we are on the path of integration, and it is our common choice. The CU roadmap has been approved by the Kyrgyz Government and almost all parliamentary factions,” said President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev.
Measures to improve the customs infrastructure, quality infrastructure and connection to the CU information data exchange system are important components of the CU roadmap implementation, and Kyrgyzstan hopes to complete them in time with active assistance of CU member countries. “Of course, we would like to celebrate the New Year as a full member of the union,” said Atambayev.
