The events in Ukraine are seriously affecting Russian and Ukrainian Railways, but companies continue cooperation, RZD President Vladimir Yakunin said. Passenger transport has dropped by 70% affecting the operations of Federal Passenger Company, one of RZD’s subsidiaries. Moreover, RZD cannot receive the locomotives ordered from Luhanskteplovoz. The operations of Ukrainian Railways are also affected by conflicts in the country’s eastern region, as they are strongly industrialised, said Yakunin.
