Russia increases railway investments in East Siberian Railway infrastructure

This year, RZD invested by 40% more than in 2013 in the infrastructure operated by East Siberian Railway, the sum allocated amounting to RUB 29.5 Billion (EUR 583 Million). Half the funds have been dedicated to increasing capacity on the Baikal-Amur main line and on the Trans-Siberian railway. Currently, works include doubling the railways on four sections and the execution of two secondary railways. The railways under construction will be put into operation by 2015. Another 20 railway sections are currently being designed.
