Slovenian state-owned railway company Slovenske Zeleznice has consolidated operating profit doubled to EUR 9 mln in the first six months of 2014 from EUR 4.3 mln a year ago.
Slovenske Zeleznice’s EBITDA rose 14% on the year to EUR 26.3 mln in the first half of the year, while operating revenue increased by an annual 12% to EUR 251.8 mln, the company said in a statement sent to SeeNews.
The company transported 9.3 mln tonnes of cargo in the first six months of the year, 13% up as compared to the like period in 2013, whereas passenger traffic dropped by 5.8% to 7.7 mln.
