Ukrainian railways hit again. Russian attacks have killed at least three people in Donetsk and wounded 10 in Kharkov.
Russian shelling killed at least three people in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine on Thursday and a rocket attack further north in the Kharkov region hit a railway station, wounding 10 people.
Donetsk region Governor Vadym Filashkin, writing on the messaging app Telegram, said the shelling killed three people and wounded four in the village of Udachne, west of the Russian-held city of Donetsk, according to Reuters.
Ukrainian Railways said a Russian strike killed three of its workers in the Donetsk region, but did not provide details of where the incident took place.
In the Kharkov region, a frequent target of recent Russian strikes, regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said the attack hit the town of Balakliia, which was occupied by Russia at the start of its invasion and recaptured by Ukraine a few months later in 2022.
“The wounded were in passenger train cars,” he said on the Telegram app.
Synehubov said the train was 15 meters from the center of the strike.
Kharkov, which is about 30km from the Russian border, and the surrounding region have long been the target of Russian attacks, but the strikes have become more intense in recent weeks, hitting civilian and energy infrastructure.
