RegioJet has taken delivery of the first of three Siemens Vectron locomotives, which are being leased from European Locomotive Leasing (ELL) under a five-year contract.
The first locomotive arrived in the Czech Republic on November 14 and was immediately put into service. The locomotive is now being repainted into RegioJet’s yellow livery.
Despite indications that it would use three former Belgian National Railways (SNCB) class 12 dual voltage electric locomotives on its new Bratislava – Košice services, which starts next month, RegioJet has opted to use Vectrons on these trains.
