Freight & Logistics
About
Over the past years, the liberalisation of the railway freight transport has facilitated the entry of new operators on the market, leading to an increase in competition and in the volume of goods transported.
The railway freight transport market is expected to continue to grow, but this requires higher efficiency and railway operators must find ways to reduce costs and deal with the increasing complexity of customer requirements, while at the same time achieving the targets of reducing emissions.
During the Forum, railway business professionals representing the entire transport chain will engage in productive discussions on the positioning of rail freight as a sustainable and competitive solution in a global world of increasing volumes of trade. The role of corridors as one of the tools with which to boost the efficiency and productivity of rail freight will be on the agenda, as well as ways to shape the rail freight business through innovation, automation and digitalisation.
The debated topics during the forum:
- China-Europe – new intermodal transport concepts (rail-maritime) - rail industry trends and the role of freight transport
- Digitalisation – making connectivity efficient (data operation in freight transport)
- Sustainable transport for international freight corridors
- Investments in technology – more silent freight trains
